Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow,
May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.

Leaving a Legacy

Every one of us leaves a Legacy when we pass away, to those left behind it is often the life we led and the lives we touched that is our most important and lasting legacy. Some may have been inspired to do well in Business or Sports, whilst others may have felt drawn to the service of others. It is in this way that we live on.

However, many of us associate a Legacy with a Bequest or Gift made in a Will. Indeed for many Charities today, Legacy Donations are the largest single source of voluntary income adding up to more than £1.3billion a year.

There are a vast amount of Charities and Groups involved in every aspect of life. From local groups offering Meals on Wheels, to International Charities fighting World Poverty. Many Charities are concerned with Disease, some spending vast amounts on Research, whilst others exist to offer help and support, perhaps even Hospice Care.

Many Religious Charities are working in the most deprived areas of the world, and are often at the forefront of Disaster Relief Operations. In this situation even a few pounds can make a difference.

If you are considering Leaving a Legacy, it is worth discussing this with your Solicitor so that it can be included in your will and given in the most tax efficient manner.
